JERA Pursues Clean Energy Solutions in MENA Region for Decarbonization Goals
Tsuyoshi Oyama, General Manager of Hydrogen & Ammonia Upstream Business - Australia & Middle East Unit at JERA, outlined the company's strategic vision towards decarbonization by 2050, emphasizing the procurement of clean ammonia to mitigate emissions from their power plants.
Highlighting the significant potential of the Middle East, Oyama articulated JERA's ambition to establish partnerships in the MENA region, aiming to secure competitive and sustainable energy sources on a global scale.
Oyama stressed the indispensable role of government support in facilitating developmental endeavors, underlining its importance in fostering an environment conducive to progress. Moreover, he underscored the criticality of collaboration and trust in bridging the expectations of buyers with the offerings of sellers, recognizing it as a key factor in achieving mutually beneficial agreements.
“It's really a matter of having a dialogue, establishing trust and having a long term partnerships. Those are the key enablers to bridge those gaps between the, seller buyers. There's a lot of stakeholders in different part of the value chain. So I think we need to stick to this collaboration to find a best solution.
